Debbie Anderson

For a decade Debbie has been a leader in the Voluntary Sector both as an employee and volunteer. She is a Coordinator, Volunteer Resources at Niagara Health System, an amalgamated organization with seven hospitals supported by more than 1,100 volunteers. In this role she is also charged with planning Volunteer Resources for the new regional Cancer Care Center.

Debbie is a gifted instructor, facilitator and trainer. She teaches the Volunteer Management Certificate program at Niagara College as well as courses for the Fundraising Certificate Program and Community Leadership Graduate Certificate Program. She also develops and presents various workshops, at regional and provincial levels, to build professional and organizational capacity. Debbie was named Instructor/Consultant of the Year by The Peter F. Drucker Canadian Non-Profit Center for Community Leadership Innovation Awards for 2006.

She currently serves as Chairperson for the Regional Association of Volunteer Administrators in Niagara and Advisory Committee Member for the annual Community Matters Conference. She has volunteered in leadership roles for community and grass-roots, provincial and national organizations throughout her life. As a consultant Debbie works with voluntary sector organizations to make community a better place to live, work and play.  She has contributed several articles to Charity Channel’s Volunteer Management Review (http://charitychannel.com/enewsletters/vmr/).

Debbie’s most prized role is with her family. Her husband Joe is her biggest supporter and best friend. Trent and Ryleigh, her beautiful children, are her most cherished gifts. They live in Niagara Falls, Ontario Canada with their dog Phoenix.
