Future Trends in Volunteerism

This edition of “Along the Web” is designed to complement our Keyboard Roundtable discussion topic for this issue. What follows is a listing of a variety of discussion papers regarding current status, future trends and emerging developments. While most of these are relatively recent, we’ve also thrown in two of Susan’s articles from the more distant past, just to show you how much – and how little – things have progressed.

I have just read with interest your list of volunteering statistics from different countries. I wondered if you would consider making an addition to the summary of volunteering in the UK section (11). The research you currently link to deals with the non profit sector in this country as a whole as opposed to just volunteering. The following page on our Institute for Volunteering Research site does however provide detailed figures specifically on volunteering in the UK: http://www.ivr.org.uk/nationalsurvey.htm
