Planning and Executing Successful Large-Scale Days of Service

By HandsOn Network

Single days of service through organized, large-scale events are growing in popularity around the globe. Although such episodic volunteering is a major trend in volunteering, too often we evaluate these events on the specific outcomes of that one day of effort – and end up questioning whether the return on the time we invested was worth it.  However, single days of service can be important for their potential to provide a point of entry for many people who then become further engaged in service to your organization or community. For this Training Design, HandsOn Network has generously shared the training toolkit they developed to prepare volunteer leaders to run successful days of service. This toolkit, called Managing Large-scale Days of Service, includes a 28-page guide, a Facilitator Agenda, and a full set of PowerPoint slides.
