Volunteering in the Land of the Long White Cloud

Volunteering in New Zealand has developed significantly in recent years. Volunteering New Zealand (the national body serving the sector) is helping drive a new national volunteer management strategy to grow the profession across the country. At the same time, our Kiwi colleagues are gearing up to host the Rugby World Cup in 2011 – an event which will mobilise thousands of volunteers right across the land. Keyboard Roundtable Editor Andy Fryar will spend July traveling across New Zealand, recording the thoughts of volunteerism leaders across the country. In the next Keyboard Roundtable, Fryar will review what the leaders have to say and report on the state of volunteering in this beautiful part of the world, known as the Land of the Long White Cloud.
