John Ramsey

John Ramsey originally practised as a lawyer before spending three months in Uganda volunteering for an environmental NGO. He went on to work for the organization for four years managing volunteers in both the UK and Tanzania before joining Student Volunteering England as Head of Information.

Ramsey subsequently became Chief Executive, where he led the strategic review of its aims and objectives, before moving to Citizens Advice as their National Volunteering Development Manager. He is currently Head of Volunteering at Age UK.

Ramsey is the co-founder and former chair of the Association of Volunteer Managers, set up to support, champion and represent volunteer managers. He currently sits on for the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service Committee and the England Volunteering Development Council.
