Marc Freedman's premise in Prime Time: How Baby Boomers Will Revolutionize Retirement and Transform America is that the baby boom generation, born between 1946 and 1964, will transform retirement as it transformed so many things in American culture. His positive assessment that "boomer" retirees will act as civil society change agents is illustrated through first-person accounts of the ways in which retirees are altering their own lives and those of their communities.

I am a proud boomer who has finally reached the empty nest and hope, as well, to reach retirement. Our anticipated presence into retirement has already changed things. Consider that no one less than AARP has noted the weighing in (?) of our generation with a change in the name of their magazine. They say it reflects the changing spirit of retirement! Don't forget the boomers are social experimenters and learn from their circumstances. Aging is teaching us new things. Be prepared for the retirement Woodstock. It's coming!
