What THEY Said: Australia’s National Volunteering Conference
This month, Voices goes on the road for a wide-ranging video conversation. Tracey O'Neill, CVA, takes you to the National Volunteering Conference in Adelaide, Australia and speaks with leaders of Volunteer Engagement from across the country, unscripted and in their own words. Wherever in the world you're watching, we suspect their answers will sound familiar. Have a watch — and then tell us what you would have said.

Fri, 08/21/2026I loved hearing from all the guests about the impact that volunteering has on their communities. I would love to see us do something like this at the next VMPC conference.
So much resonated with me, but particularly the comment about the increased confidence of volunteers thanks to their volunteer experience. I see that so often and it's so hard to demonstrate that impact.

Thu, 08/27/2026Loved watching so many familiar faces in this video Tracy, what really resonated with me was Bron's (VMCH) comment about the wisdom that volunteers bring with them - so true and we really need to embrace and use that wisdom. I also found the comment about the impact to volunteers around the growth in their confidence to be compelling. I have seen amazing confidence growth in some of my volunteers in a short time and it's fantastic to see.
