Jim Hutchinson

Jim Hutchinson is Head of Volunteering and Engagement for Imperial War Museums  (IWM), a family of five museums: IWM London; IWM North in Trafford, Greater Manchester; IWM Duxford near Cambridge; the Churchill War Rooms in Whitehall, London; and the historic ship HMS Belfast, moored in the Pool of London on the River Thames. Hutchinson was the first ever Volunteer Co-ordinator for IWM when appointed to the post at IWM Duxford in October 2000, and then moved to London in September 2006 to develop a new volunteer programme for IWM's London branches. Working in partnership with other heritage sector colleagues, Hutchinson helped to establish the London Heritage Volunteer Managers Network and served as the group's first chairman from 2013 through 2014.
